Most people are probably are unaware of this, but Volkswagen indirectly played a small part in the founding of Nike, with the footwear and sports apparel company starting out of the back of a Volkswagen Bus in the 1960s with the name Blue Ribbon Sports. To commemorate this and to celebrate the re-opening of the first Blue Ribbon Sports store in Santa Monica, California, Volkswagen built a custom I.D. BUZZ Cargo Van with Blue Ribbon Sports styling enhancements. (more…)

Both the 2018 Volkswagen Atlas and 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan are new options for the model year, but with their introduction came a side effect: where are the smaller VW SUVs?  The old Tiguan became the Tiguan Limited, and was set for discontinuation once inventory ran low, while the premium-focused Touareg was also discontinued. Though it’s true that the Tiguan is available in a two-row option, what about a high-powered, premium five-passenger SUV? Well, for 2019 the Volkswagen Atlas Cross Sport is going into production. For years, Volkswagen enthusiasts in America have been awaiting the return of the iconic VW Bus. Earlier this year, they somewhat got their wish as the all-electric and VW Bus-inspired BUDD-e van debuted to rave reviews at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, taking home the “Best Innovation” award. The Consumer Electronics Show brings someone of the world’s most cutting-edge technology to Las Vegas every January, and for CES 2016, one of the most talked about showings was the VW BUDD-e Concept, a van that’s inspired by the classic VW Buses of yesteryear, while possessing highly advanced technology and an all-electric powertrain.
