Volkswagen Flashback to the First Generation MKI Jetta

In some ways, it can feel like modern vehicles carry on the same name as their predecessors, but hardly share the same DNA. Volkswagen recently purchased and restored a 1982 Volkswagen Jetta, which was originally thought of as a Golf with a trunk. Since these early years, the Jetta has deviated in design quite a lot from the Golf, but that also means it doesn’t look much like the original Jetta model. As you can see in the gallery of photos below, Volkswagen has provided an insightful flashback in photographing the first-generation, MKI Jetta next to the upcoming MKVII 2019 VW Jetta. (more…)
