Which Volkswagen models have adaptive cruise control?

Whether traffic is busy, or you’re stuck behind the one semi on a single-lane highway, it can be stressful if you’re stuck behind another vehicle and you want to give your ankle a break. Traditional cruise control is an enormous step up from no cruise control at all, but what if you could take things even further? This is where Volkswagen Adaptive Cruise Control steps things up. The system automatically adjusts speed to maintain a following distance with a vehicle in front of you, so you aren’t forced to turn off your cruise control if the pace is unsteady. Next-generation 2020 VW Golf R Horsepower

For quite a long time, Volkswagen hasn’t had competition against the Golf, let alone its performance hatchbacks. Many automakers simply thought that sedans were preferable over hatchback counterparts. With crossovers and SUVs taking over the market, it only became a matter of time before other brands came to realize that these cars are a solid choice for single drivers who live active lifestyles. Though the 292-horsepower 2018 VW Golf R is certainly no slouch, it now competes against models like the 2018 Ford Focus RS. So what will the next-generation VW Golf R offer in 2020? 1982 and 2019 Jetta

In some ways, it can feel like modern vehicles carry on the same name as their predecessors, but hardly share the same DNA. Volkswagen recently purchased and restored a 1982 Volkswagen Jetta, which was originally thought of as a Golf with a trunk. Since these early years, the Jetta has deviated in design quite a lot from the Golf, but that also means it doesn’t look much like the original Jetta model. As you can see in the gallery of photos below, Volkswagen has provided an insightful flashback in photographing the first-generation, MKI Jetta next to the upcoming MKVII 2019 VW Jetta. Volkswagen I.D. R Pikes Peak Twin-Engine Electric Vehicle

No one would deny that Volkswagen is active in motorsports, but there’s one race the brand has opted out of since it failed to take first place in the late 1980s: The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Not only is VW changing its tune and participating in the 2018 race, but the automaker built the I.D. R Pikes Peak specifically to take on the EV record. This twin-engine, fully-electric vehicle is a supercar that produces 680 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque to get a 0-60 acceleration time of 2.25 seconds. It’s effectively producing Formula One figures, but is that enough to break the record. Read the rest of this entry »
